Weird Problem with Icons Path Arcade 0.264

Okay I know that Arcade is an offshoot of mame but I am having a real headscratcher...
So You set the directoryies to the paths for roms etc and they stored in

/ini/ui.ini
/ini/mame.ini

which is fairly simple text file, easy to edit.

Issue.. I removed my ini folder path to test, now I set all directories up as in the home folder on the emulator.
(by default) when I come to setting ICONS path, everything works as normal. Quit emulator and open the ini files
all paths are default in the lists

Now the issue is if you look at the UI block you will see that ICONS is default
When I now load emulator the Icon path is stored as the full path I gave it to where my icons are stored. Not in main folder.

So... Where the hell is Arcade saving the path for icons?!


I removed all cfg and same thing

All directory paths are default except for icons....

Anyone got a clue to this?
I am now confused.... Oh and nothing to do with write protected files either.... 

In all the years of using MAME/Arcade I have never had this issue...

Extremely confusing post...

Did you look in gui/interface.ini ? There's a bunch of search paths in there.

yeah sorry for confusing post. mame.ini and ui.ini used to contain all the paths so when you set them up they were stored in those files.
If you default the mame.ini by deleting it, all paths should default back to Local folder.
When you open the Directory setup options in Arcade all are reset to default, as they should, except for the icons path which is still pointing to none local folder on D:

now the icon path is supposed to be stored in MAME.INI but it's not, that path is set as default in the ini.

I'll go through the gui files in morning as it's 03:45 now :) Ta
