I know this is not tech support for ClrMame but I wanted to comment on it anyway.

I still use 4.035 because ever since then even to just update the smallest of roms it has to do some type of deep scan or whatever it does to take 30 minutes per rom.
I have no clue how to shut that deep dive feature off so I stopped using higher versions.

Now the version I use, locks up anything relating to .zip files and the console so I have to reset explorer or my rig.

This program is insane and I have no clue as to the mindset of the author in 2023.

That's not normal behaviour.
