romshepherd.com taken down?

What happened? i've been offline for a few days and when i come back both the site and tracker are dead?

Nintendo happened, that's what.

Search HERE for the text in the link you'll see a screenshot of the IRC and him saying bye RIP RomShepherd, Nintendo strikes down another site

Here's the reality.
Nothing was backed up or brought up to speed as in Usenet, Internet Archive, No Torrents.
You did have an interesting thing going on with Mad Dog and 1fichier.

Now you have a situation where all you had to do is get rid of anything relating to Nintendo but they didn't and instead pushed DS NDS and everything else Nintendo complained about even the Switch.

What gets me is exactly what did you want Nintendo to do...Let their entire business go down.  Switch is their latest console and it can now be emulated on the PC with every rom being passed around.

You guys do it for MAME so what was the problem for Nintendo.

So, instead of compliance life went on and now everyone is screwed because try updating TOSEC, The Dos Collection, PINBALL, NoIntro and the rest now just because you got greedy.

TC could have also put everything in the private tracker but getting access to that is a chore unto itself.

I'm not whining, I'm not complaining...I am just telling it like it is and I hope TC will clean up RS then put it back online because at one time that was a place for friends to hang out.

Usually telling the truth to people that don't want to hear also gets you banned and I hope that's not the case.

What really get's me is the crying and screaming copy write over sharing what they call "Amiga software still for sale"  from 20 years ago yet turn around and pass along the latest Nintendo Rom.  That is what you call a HYPOCRITE.

anybody knows how to contact askavenger or balthier?

i was still downloading the duke nukem 3d files damn... f* nintendo i hate them

see nintendo has not learn from downfall pitfalls. sony did though. sony didn't pressure very hard even with its awesome PS4 system, let alone prior systems. why. VHS (RCA, Magnavox, Zenith, Quasar, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, JVC ended up winners. Sony beta lost. push too hard and it's easy to get squeezed out of the market entirely...

Once again sony will come out on top,  eventually.

Come on dude...And I am not trying to start a fight.
All TC had to do is remove Nintendo's stuff then Nintendo would have no reason to complain.
Why would you hate Nintendo for protecting their business which a hundred thousand employees rely on across the globe.
They also have a right to protect all the other programmer's and companies that are losing money on every time someone pirates a rom.

Startland did it, I would suspect that Pleasure Dome is in compliance and a lot of other websites.

I'll be hell bent on getting compliance if I spent a year or two on a game just to find it on a website for free.

I think you would be mad as hell if you were in that same boat.

pirated copies are only free advertisement. I collect games. have more than 300 nintendo cartridges, around 50 SNES, handful of N64 carts, 100's of atari carts (2600, 5200, and 7200), tons of sega reg, 32x, and cd's. have a few full scale arcade games. omega race sitdown, missile command sitdown (less than 100 made, bought from alladins castle), and tempest. only morrowind and skyrim did I ever play for a period of time that were pirated copies. I liked them so much I bought the full best limited edition anniversary, or whatever versions. along with strategy guides and anything else available. without trying them I would never had bought them, absolutely  I still have original apple IIe floppies from way back.

or maybe nintendo wants you to spend a bunch of money before you can find out its just a pile of crap, instead of owesome from its own advertisements....

Im mad because the games they are taking down are the ones from 80s and 90s come on where did they want people to find those nowdays is not like it is water  and dont even get me started on the rare and prototype ones where the fk do they want me to find those come on! they should be worring more about new games like switch

I get everything you say brother I realy do and I am mad at that as well but at the method, not the company.
If truth be told, when one goes down 5 pop up somewhere else so Nintendo did nothing but burn a lot of people.

This blanket banning is the only way to tackle 50 billion things at once in a modern world.

Resident Evil 5 has nothing to do with Resident Evil from 1996 yet instead of going through each one it was expedient to just have it all done at one time.

Did anyone manage to do a backup/scrape of the site before it was taken down?

Me I scraped the Retro No-Intro stuff

If you are talking about ROMs

Thanks for sharing these links.

Does anyone have the latest SVMExtractor and SVMInfo.dat for Gruby's AdventurePack?

No because people became greedy and complacent.

Just ask some internals about the 1fichier kickbacks

Can't make any money off of posting to usenet or the internet archive.

Some extra note...

Nintendo is doing this because they are worried about Raspberry Pi Chips too, so they think people is gain money to buy this stuff and not their old dead merchandise. smile It is illegal to get roms, then used games are illegal to all stores and auctions too.

Just suck it ñintendo kids...

GOD as well got shut down, so brace yourselfs... or this forum will be next... and then PD or the entire world. cry

Can someone please burn 2018 for good?
