Newb in search of help

Hello all,

I'm a new member just starting a Mame build.Starting to learn what it's about and build a game collection.I was at the DL area(Current Roms) and hit the limit a couple of days,then upgraded my membership.Now it occured to me that instead of DL each file separately,there may be a way to get the entire parent directory all at once(there's a LOT of individual files,dont'cha know,lol).

If not,and I do have to DL each individually,so be it,and I'll be back in touch in about a month,with other newb questions I'm sure

So,it's been a month,and I'm still trying to DL MAME ROM's one at a time when I can(up to 900 or so now)Is there a better way?

Hi Bowtie41, the easiest way is to download the Mame torrents at https://www.pleasuredome.org.uk

yeah, sorry we only offers this "ugly" web download. That is fine for an update but not for a complete download

I wish to THANK YOU for the replies! I was about to give up hope for an answer! I hit my 500 file limit today ;-(  (2302 so far 1 at a time sucks!) As I said,I been working for a month+ when I can,and just now got to the middle of the "B"'s,lol. Bless You!

 Well,I went to the link,the rules says I have to have files to share before I can DL.Looked at ClrMamePro and Dir2Dat,and torrentZip,but unclear as what to do.Looked at YT vids on them,Ran CMP,made a dat file but don't know how to proceed,as it gave me like 7 warnings.Gonna stick to 500/day for awhile....maybe I'm too dumb for this stuff,lol.

...use the zip not the torrrent and update from there...

[free] torrent @ pleasuredome are good for a start, they are not included in the ratio. That means you can download it for "free" but it is expected to share the amount back that you have downloaded

i used this part successfully:

in yourLIST.txt (same folder of wget and where you download roms), lines like:

https://bda.retroroms.info/downloads/mame/mame-0206-full/005.zip
https://bda.retroroms.info/downloads/mame/mame-0206-full/100lions.zip
https://bda.retroroms.info/downloads/mame/mame-0206-full/10yard.zip

you can get your lines from http source of the site page, editing it with a good txt editor (es. textedit)

but .. pay attention to your daily limits :-)

es. put 100 lines for a normal account, 2000 to upgraded one etc.
