I am just trying to set this up. I am not sure as newb what is the best version of mame to use. Basically I want Robotron, Joust, Dender, Donkey Kong and the pacman games. I am also looking for advice on a reasonably priced arcade style controller with multiple buttons and two joysticks for Joust.

New to mame - guidance needed
MAME is for arcade emulation, it is command line emulator. There are frontends available to it but yeah you have to decide yourself how you want to "start" a game ;-) If you do a search you will find information and "how to" documentation for MAME. You can also use my guide as a start (mameguide.info),, yeah I know a little outdated but a lot of topics are covered....... |
