Mame 0.240 not all ROMS work ?

Hello, I wanted to start from scratch.. so I went ahead and downloaded mame0240b-64bit.exe
I have a list for around 100 Games I like to play. So I went to this page download section and choose the mame-0240-full/
I now found all my 100 games, and put them in my roms folder.
Now when I start up Mame, it all looks good and like 60% of det game works... But the rest of them dont and says files are missing and stuff.

What am I doing wrong here, I thought when I choose the o.240 version of Mame and downloaded the roms from 0.240 as well I would be fine.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong ?

some games need bios files to work if there missing bios the roms wont work there lots of bios and you put them in roms folder when you download the bios they should be ziped you don't need extract them just put them in roms folder and another thing do you no about chd files that is hdd game that game with better games like killer instinct  you need to create a new folder chd folder in the roms folder them put them in there i hope this help man Djaz

But that seems stupid that I need to find extra files for a Rom game to work ?

Why are they not in the package from the start ? Where do I find bios files ? Is bios files the same as *.bin files ?

Ok I found I could download namco files and put in roms folder, that made a few more work.

Now Ineed to know what to do with the ones that seem to miss it all.

I got it all 2 work... just needed to look around the web for the missing files.

New to this site. I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times but is there a way to download all ROMS + CHD (and supporting files) in one download? Looking to update my ROM set.

I am also hoping that Soul Calibur 2 finally works.

 Those missing files are in the BDA here, it's a full set.

i glad i could help Djaz i saw the picture of  galaga you posted  you need bios  for galaga you need bios namco51.zip

and namco54.zip stick them in the roms folder for neogeo you need neogeo.zip ok i hope this helps you guys

Similar problem here. I am a newbie who is trying to run the MAME ROMs from here but can't make any to work. I am using Windows 7 and I guess I need to have emulator. Can anyone suggest me a good emulator along with a tutorial regarding the setup so I can run these kind of ROMs?
