Ideal input device for Arkanoid and Marble Madness

I have the Arkanoid series and Marble Madness games for MAME and would like to know what input device would be best to play these games with.  The original arcade machines used a trackball.

There are real Trackballs to buy like "Ultimarc U-Trak" or "X-Arcade Trackball Assembly" or completely assembled: "X-Arcade Tankstick + Trackball" (= https://shop.xgaming.com/products/x-arcade-tankstick-trackball-usb-included )

Not cheap, but near to the "real thing"

Arkanoid doesn't use a trackball, it uses a spinner.

 What is the difference between a track ball and a spinner? Which is more ideal these games?

One is a ball and the other is a knob.

You can't use the spinner for Marble Madness, but I guess you could use a trackball for Arkanoid.
