my repo (FBN) is now at : Index of / |
NES: Super Mario Bros. Christmas Edition (Hack) Looks like the patch file is here: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5556/ However, I don't get the correct CRC after applying it. |
They updated the patch today to v1.1, I guess FBNeo uses the older patch that I can't find. |

{ "Ghosts'n Goblins (USA)(Hack, Very Easy Mode v2.0).nes", 131088, 0x66751cad, BRF_ESS | BRF_PRG }, { "RoboCop 2 (USA)(Hack, Responsive Controls v1.1).nes", 262160, 0xff6885d8, BRF_ESS | BRF_PRG }, I can help with robocop2h rom. About the another hack (Ghosts'n Goblins), i got an different crc from mentioned in fbneo code.
i used ips from this link - https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4194/ |
patch it with the rom already in fbneo . worked for me. |
rom repo updated |
patch it with the rom already in fbneo . worked for me. Hmm. I applied in the rom mentioned on instructions (crc "87ED54AA"). If devs used another rom to apply patch, they has made a mistake...
-------------- i checked both roms. the romfile already in fba (usa, "983dd1de") has a diferent header. the bytes from 10 until 15 are different ("NI 1.3"). Look crc "87ed54aa" 10: 00 11: 00 12: 00 13: 00 14: 00 15: 00
crc "983dd1de" (fbn version) 10: 4E 11: 49 12: 20 13: 31 14: 2E 15: 33
"4e,49,20,31,2e,33" if viewed in hex editor shows "NI 1.3" <- this seems an watermark, or not...
anyway i attached correct ghost 'n globins very easy as on fbneo code. thx happyface |
These are called "dirty headers".
|
lol, no intro nes has always been headerless, use my dev-set "NES2.0" |
The daily No-Intro dat uses a headered NES set. |
Hi, does anyone have those Cheeky Mouse (cheekyms) samples listed in the latest DAT? Thanks :) |

miss only 1 rom nes: Golden Five (Pegasus 5-in-1)(Unl) |
These are called "dirty headers".
Personally I would prefer the roms to be unheadered to have a consistent hash data, and keep the header proprieties built into an internal database, that way would be easier to update and fix the games without require rebuilding romset, so as result would solve a lot of problems xD GoodNES used an outdated iNES1.0 headers, had some faulty ones too, plus some games requires mappers id over 255 which aren't supported by it.
