Problems with Mame 0.193

Hello guys, i'm a newbie user of mame emulator 0.193,

i have downloaded the sega rally 2 rom (i have inserted it in the roms folder) for the mame 0.193, but it doesn't work.

When i try to start the rom i see the load screen of the mame and nothing else, because after it the screen remain black...

how i can resolve this trouble?

I have also a problem with the roms of killer instinct 1 and 2: these two games do not start, immediately giving me error,
telling me "missing or required rom or chd image"...

When you start Sega Rally 2 in Mame you get a big red screen before you get the load screen and that black screen.
It says on that red screen that THIS MACHINE DOESN'T WORK...

The error in Killer Instinct says you're missing the CHD image. Did you download the CHD image?

yes, i have seen this red screen but i thinked that maybe the rom would have start with only some imperfection...

so to play with sega rally 2 i must download another emulator?

About killer Istinct i haven't download chd image.

I find it in the download section?

Sega Rally 2 is supposed to work in the Supermodel emulator, it uses the same rom as in Mame.
I didn't try it though, so I can't help you with that emulator. http://www.supermodel3.com

I downloaded the five parts of Killer Instinct and the seven parts of Killer Instinct 2 but i can't download the md5 and txt files...

Where do i have to insert the downloaded parts? I do not see any folder named chd

You don't need the txt or md5 files.

Inside those rar-files is a folder named kinst or kinst2 with the chd in it.
You have to extract the part1 of those rar-files using either winrar or 7-zip to get those two folders; I assume you use Windows.
Afterwards you need to place those 2 folders in the roms folder of Mame.

I just noticed that the chds inside the rar-files aren't placed in a folder, you can just put the kinst.chd and kinst2.chd in the roms folder of mame.

Now i must understand what i must do for improve the graphics quality (mostly the resolution), although i can not see any voice among the options about the resolution...

These are old arcade games, you can't change the resolution.

I thought a retro guy would know that.

but for example the supermodel emulator you have linked to me, offers this option (among other things, i tried the emulation of sega rally 2 and is terrifying...)

Edit: now i tried to start the wonder boy in monster land rom and it doesn't work (it appears the same red screen that i had with killer instinct) but i don't find any CHD image for this rom (but also for the other wonder boy...)

To be precise i have downloaded this rom: Wonder Boy in Monster Land (English, Virtual Console)

but i don't understand how to make it work...

I looked in the CHD folder but i didn't find anything about Wonder Boy...

Maybe the Roms are outdated. All we know that MAME updates the Roms so maybe need the new Roms versions. Sorry for my bad english, spanish is my maternal language.
