Greetings All, I'm trying to locate some missing roms from MAME 0.193. I'm using the official version of MAME and running CLRMAMEPRO to scan. I was unable to find these files when searching the 0.193 full set in the download section. I'm not sure which of the following are roms vs CHDs, however, I would just like to find the missing roms to complete that side of the set at this time. Any help in locating these would be much appreciated.Thanks.
You are missing 220 of 38704 known MAME 0.193 sets (+ BIOS sets)

That's partly the result you get when you disable the scanning of CHDs using the official Mame dat. I get 212 of 38704 missing when I disable CHDs, so it looks like you're missing 8 roms.
Use the rom-only dat from https://www.emulab.it/rommanager/datfiles.php to check your romset without CHDs, it will show the actual missing roms that you then can download from the Downloads section.
Also, right-click in the scan results window on Clrmamepro and choose save/fix-datfile/all listed set issues to save a fixdat that you can attach to your post. That's a lot easier for us than having to read through a missing-list of 220 sets.

Thank you very much for the reply and detailed information. I've downloaded the ROM only dat file and ran it. With the CHDs removed it reported that I was missing 3 sets. After adding the 3 missing sets it is now reporting 207 ROMs. I've attached the fix dat file results. |

You will find all those missing roms in their respective romset in the Downloads area.
eg. The first roms you miss are in http://bda.retroroms.info/downloads/mame/mame-0193-full/afighterh.zip

I'm all up to date now. Thank you very much for getting me on the right track. |

dont I need lindbios the chds and ghostsev.zip (the rom)?
-
ghostsev.zip (ROM of the game)
-
ghostsev (folder with the same name as the ROM)
-
dvp-0029a.chd (CHD file)
-
mda-c0004a_revb_lindyellow_v2.4.20_mvl31a_boot_2.01.chd(CHD file)
-
dvp-0029a.chd (CHD file)
|
|
You also need https://bda.retroroms.info/downloads/mame/CHDs_temp/lindbios/
There is no ghostsev.zip.
Besides, the game is marked as non-working.
|
|
Then how are people playing it on a PC on YouTube? I've found where the file was available in multiple places but the site took down their roms for legal reasons. It 100% exists you just dont have it. |
|
Why don't you ask them on Youtube?
I bet they aren't using Mame.
|
|
|
|
So what you're saying is, I need all these files for the mame version to work? You have all of these files except ghostsev.zip (the rom). There's sites out there explaining in multiple languages how to play this rom and what files you need to play it. The files exist but the game can't be emulated? I'm so confused. Ghostsev.zip is a rom file it does exist. Its listed everywhere as being in certain updates. EmuP had the file but ghosted (pun intended) all of their roms. But even if I had the file I couldn't use Mame to play it? |
|
I feel like an idiot, they're emulating it in a PC using the dolphin Wii emulator |
|
|
|
You must 1st read the description of your Youtube Link!
Citat: "Gameplay footage of Ghost Squad running on Dolphin with an Aimtrak lightgun. The arcade version is not yet emulated properly. Only one Aimtrak will work for now though a second player can use a Wii remote."
And the Title says also: "Ghost Squad (port) with Aimtrak on Dolphin Emulator"
At wiki: "Ghost Squad and Ghost Squad: Evolution are light gun rail shooter arcade games developed and published by Sega. A home version of the original Ghost Squad was developed for Nintendo's Wii game console. A sequel, Operation GHOST, was released in arcades in 2012."
You must wait for the real version to work in MAME, or use the port version for Wii on Dolphin Emulator!
Or try TeknoParrot with the sequel "Operation G.H.O.S.T."
Cheers
