Thank you a lot! I realized with quizard that the files were already on my machine, just the names were wrong (they are wrong in the downloadsection) so I did a few good guesses while renaming and now everything is fine! daniel

Hello! Thank you for your Guide - it is .... quite long? I am big confused (since this Mame Thing is new for me) - especually that the Gude still differs between Mame and Mess. Now, I am as far as clrmamepro tells me basicly all is fine, Mamegui64 0.180 tells me "no unavailable systems" but Mame64 tells me 361 unavailable systems. And then, even Mameui64 can not start mess systems like SNES and clmamepro has the need to do different systems folders even tho all roms are just in the roms folder and found there. Quite confusing. So I am asking myself what for is the MESS Folder here in the Download area, where to get for Example the 3DO Files and where the hell should I put them?! - sorry for my notunderstanding - and the really big thing: IF I do Mameui64 in the same Filefolder as Mame64, Mame crashes with "to many textures" when I do "ALT+TAB"...

@danielschmatz: MAMEui 0.180 is now able to run also MESS Software. My guide was indeed before that merge from MAME and MESS. If you need help -> create a new topic (don't mix your questions with this thread).

I have scoured the BDA and the newsgroups and I cannot find working versions of a number of MAME roms.

Any help is appreciated.

@nightowl007 What version are those for? Because those aren't the correct rom names for Mame 0.180.

I had 0.177. Grabbed all of the 0.177 --> 0.178 roms, 0.178 --> 0.179 roms and finally all 0.179 --> 0.180 roms and applied them in order using newest ClrMAME. Prior to this, I had many missing 'sets' and 'chds' but no missing 'roms'. 

I still had several hundred missing ROMS. I pulled each one missing from the BDAand Usenet, but the files CRCs are matching, I guess, as ClrMAME skips/ignores them.

I pulled down the 0.180 torrentzipped, split files from PD and initiated a rebuild using ClrMAME and that process got me down to a few hundred missing ROMS.

I think there is a CRC issue with ClrMAME. I have posted a question with evidence to Roman on his board.
